!FEATURE A TEACHER
Mrs. Folken joined our staff this year as a kindergarten teacher. Mrs. Folken grew up in a city, Denver, and was able to attend a Lutheran elementary and Lutheran high school. She grew up with three siblings. She was very active in high school, being a member of the choir, band, volleyball and tennis teams. Mrs. Folken met her spouse in college, and they are blessed with four grown children.

Her hobbies now include spending time with family and playing the piano. She admits to getting into trouble once in school, and that was enough for her!! Her favorite movie is Cinderella Man, favorite books are Christy and Witch of Blackbird Pond. When asked what she likes about MLA, she responds, “I am amazed at the volunteer help from parents, grandparents, and friends. Her dream vacation is going to happen next summer when she goes to France to visit her daughter! Having grown up in Colorado, she loves the mountains, skiing, white water rafting, camping and hiking. A little know skill is that when she was in elementary school, she rode her bike the one mile to school, WITHOUT ever touching the handlebars (on a good day!)

Welcome to MLA, Mrs. Folken! We are blessed to have you here!
