Enrollment

Enrollment is in full swing.  Please make sure you have the email from TADS that has your unique enrollment code.  As of Thursday, we have 33 students enrolled.  66% of the current 1st grades are enrolled, 50% of the current 6th graders are enrolled, and 39% of the current Kindergartens are enrolled.  Our goal is to have 100% retention.  Right now, we have about 38% of our student body re-enrolled.  Don’t forget, the enrollment fee changes from $150 to $200 per student on next Thursday, February 1.  If you cannot find the email from TADS, please contact the office.

National Lutheran Schools’ Week

This has been a great week.  The students daily devoted together, learned about Cambodia, collected can foods, and continued to work hard in the classroom.  We are truly blessed to be able to attend a school with teachers who have great knowledge and experience and a servant’s heart.  We are also blessed to have students who come to school excited and ready to learn about all that the Lord has graciously given them. Plus, a principal that will grant your child a free dress day if they come to him either the Friday or Monday following this newsletter and tell him, “Eagles Rock.”  A governing board that works to lead MLA to be successful.  Most importantly, we have the blessings of hearing about a Lord and our Savior who shows us grace and mercy every day.  A God who is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Kansas City Lutheran Athletic League 7th and 8th Grade Basketball Tournament

On February 8th, 9th and 10th, MLA will be hosting seven teams from the Kansas City area.  There is a great need in many different areas, ranging from food donations to volunteering your time to make this event a success.  This is an awesome opportunity to show other schools what makes MLA an amazing place.  A SignUpGenius will be shared shortly for you, your family, and even your high school students to sign up to volunteer.  Another sign up will be shared asking for food donations over the course of the weekend.  This food will be sold in the concession stand as well as made available for coaches and referees.  Let’s show the Lutheran community what makes MLA a great school.  #MLAProud

Mr. Scott Dixon

The MLA family mourns the loss of Cheryl McComas. She was one of our hot lunch volunteers and died 19 January 2018. Her funeral was earlier today. Please keep her parents, Roy & Minnie Soutee in your prayer.

iPad/iPod

Mr. Dixon is looking for a used iPad or iPod that a person would be willing to donate to MLA or sell for a low price.  Mr. Dixon would like to use it to help create videos and potentially to start an after school club that could use it.  Please contact Mr. Dixon if you or someone you know has one.
