Individual
Attention
Martin Luther Academy is the perfect size to allow students to participate in many activities. The student body is small enough to allow for each student to receive individual attention and be involved in whatever activities they choose. It is also large enough to offer some group activities and sports! Students at MLA are able to be involved in MANY activities.
Field Trips
Each class takes several field trips throughout the year. Some of the field trips they take include: The Coterie, The Nelson Atkins Museum, Pony Express Museum, School of Economics, American Royal, The Zoo, and many more, including a 7th and 8th grade Class Trip!
Sports
5th-8th grade students are invited to be a part of the MLA Athletics. Our Sports include: Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Track, and Cross Country.
Academics
Not only are our students challenged academically each and every day, but students are also invited to challenge themselves through activities like Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, National Junior Honor Society and The Academic Bowl.
Chapel Families
Big kids and little kids get a chance to be a part of life together with their chapel families. These families do activities together every month and sit together in chapel each week.
Extra Curricular Clubs
Depending on club sponsors, we can also provide after school clubs for Chess Club, Japanese Club, Academic Club, Yearbook Club, and Running Club.
Service Activities
Each class at MLA is encouraged to do at least one service activity throughout the year. They also bring in Chapel money each week that goes toward a specific cause. This money is given away to help others.

Volunteer Time
Each school year we ask for 10 hours per family of volunteer time at some capacity. There are many opportunities to fulfill those hours. Cleaning, painting, organizing during the summer months. Concession/gate during sporting events. Classroom volunteering. Our annual Auction. Field trips or extra curricular clubs. Lunch helper. No matter your gifting, we can plug you in to help. - Christ Lutheran is looking to hire a new Pre-K director. Candidates must be members of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, have a college degree, and education and/or administrative experience is preferred. - King of Kings is hosting a Northland Lutheran ARts & Music Festival on June 5th-6th. Enjoy an evening of sacred music featuring a combined All-Circuit Choir, congregation choirs, small ensembles, and instrumentalists, while also exploring a curated visual art exhibition reflecting on God’s holiness, sacred spaces, and the blessings He gives to His people. - St. Stephen is hosting a free seminar on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Presented by Doxology called “In HIS Image: Navigating Christian Sexuality in a Post-Christian Culture.” This one day seminar is designed to equip pastors, teachers, parents, and all Christians with tools to speak constructively and live confidently amid the current confusion over gender, rapidly changing sexual norms in society, and the legal redefinition of marriage.
